Fire Set Set By Youths Along Johnson Creek July 26,2002

Small fire set along Johnson Creek/Springwater Loop

Today while I was outside in my back yard,I heard breaking glass and noticed there were two male youths throwing bottles into Johnson creek. I kept working until I heard on of them ask the other "is this flammable and do you have a lighter on ya?" The other replied that "F*** ya I do". A few minutes later I overheard one of them say "can't get this sh** to light", that is when I went to edge of property and yelled at them not to freaking light anything on fire, that my home was right here. They then told me to "F*** Off B****" and ran off toward Bell Avenue.

I called 911

I called 911 to notify then that there was a small fire burning and I was going to go try to put it out. My Husband actually put it out and then walked down along Johnson Creek to look for the individuals.

The Fire Department Arrived Quickly

The Firemen arrived here rather quickly,thankfully the fire was already out.One of the Firefighters said it was weedkiller that had been ignited.As I was walking back up to my back yard, another Firefighter told me to GET USED TO IT THAT THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME ALONG JOHNSON CREEK. Told him my family had just bought a home here and I can't get used to fires being set. Thanked them for coming. THANKFULLY NOTHING BECAME OF THIS, WHAT IF IT DID? The youths weren't found as of this afternoon.
