I should have responded long before now, sorry but I don't look on here often for blood pressure reasons :). My wife and her friend have taken the lead of this for the last 2 years and are NOT doing so this year due to some issues they encountered last year (parking, people blocking the entrance, no help from others, cost, ect). We are willing to pay our part if someone else would like to do it, but the hassles are not worth the reward for us to do it every year. I know the crowds have been a bit more than we had anticipated, so much so that someone from LSF actually "chewed her out" about not having a "plan" to handle them, and thus we will leave it to others to deal with in the future.
Things like this, neighborhood yard sales and such, are going to be difficult to get many involved in helping with until we have an actual "HOA", but from what I understand at this point that is WAY in the future. Just my opinion on it though and maybe I am wrong, but since we did not do it this year I have not seen anyone pony up to try and move forward with it even though MANY residents seem to enjoy, and make good money off, it. Wish it were different, but we just can't for now.
