Developed as an opportunity to assist in the revitalization of the Livingston Avenue/Driving Park community, the Rickenbacker-Woods Technology Center has partnered with LACCD to promote and begin the process of creating an all-inclusive facility that will highlight the historical lives and accomplishments of Columbus natives Eddie Rickenbacker and Granville T. Woods.
Centered around the renovation and preservation of Rickenbacker?’s Livingston Avenue childhood home, the center would also be a clearinghouse of sorts, hosting after-school and summer programs for area youth, a number of interactive technology and invention exhibits, in addition to a community technology resource center.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Dr. Tina Crawford, the center has partnered with LACCD, with their temporary headquarters located at LACCD?’s Livingston Avenue offices. This project promises to be beneficial for everyone involved, creating new jobs while recruiting new businesses to open within the Livingston Avenue corridor as well.
