I am by no means perfect in any way, but I would like tell everyone exactly what took place while I was president.
First it wasn't easy to get everything together nor did I expect it to be. We spent the first 4 months of our term getting things setup and collecting dues and had 100% precipitation. I also spent over 300.00 of my personal money to get things since we didn't have the funds for supplies and a Yard of the Month sign. During this time friendships with some of the board members were dissolved due to gossip and innuendo. After the dissolving of friendships, these members failed to show up for meetings, so when the members that were present agreed to do something for the neighborhood the other board members would cause a split vote and nothing could happen. When we had tree cut down in the front, I was blasted for not letting them know, that wasn't the case at all. We tried to let them know what our intension were, and never heard back from them. The reason the tree was cut down was because it posed a threat of falling and possible hurting someone. We all agreed at one of the meetings to fix the cul-de-sac up on Purple Martin because of a homeowner parking an eighteen wheeler on it. I stated that I would supply the dirt from the erosion being dug out from behind my home which I was responsible for. It was also agreed that the board would supply the sod once I put the dirt down. In fact someone else wanted the dirt to cover their culverts, but I explained to them that I had promised to put the dirt for the cul-de-sac and if they would wait 2 weeks I would give them the dirt from the pool. After it was all done the some members of the board didn?’t want to spend the money for sod. The new board took over and I was sent a letter stating that I was in violation of 8.5 of the restrictions, and when I responded to the board that it was agreed by the past board to lay sod. They responded saying that they asked the former board members if it was true and they said that it wasn?’t. So I was held accountable for it, and it was agreed that I pressure wash the street to remove the dirt and buy 2 palettes of sod to put around the edge of the cul-de-sac and the existing board would finish putting the rest of the sod, now I will ask everyone did they follow-up with their end of the agreement?
To answer another question about why I haven?’t offer to be part of the existing board to help out? When our Vice President and Director of Committees stepped down I called and asked if help was needed and was told, no the board was going to run as it is. When the day arrive for the lake clean-up I was out of town, but my children were there helping and a week prior to that I had sprayed both lakes with 2/4 D and put sulfur sulfate to kill the green slim due to no movement in the lake. I also pulled grass from the lakes edge as well.
I want to also state that from day one in moving in Audubon Trace I have put pride in living here. I along with a select few of neighbors have given countless hours cutting the grass at the entrance and the cul-de-sacs pulling grass and offering to help anyone that has needed help.
We do not choose our last names but I pride myself with the fact that I have given to this neighborhood and my neighbors unselfishly.
