Recently Roseland Heights and surrounding neighborhoods received notice that the Cook County Assessor has reassessed their property. Most homes in this township (Hyde Park) decreased by 7%. Roseland Heights increased 10.9% which may result in a tax bill in excess of $2,354 prior to exemptions. RHCA believe that our property has been over assessed! We do not want to pay more than our fair share, which is what will happen if you don't protest.
The downturn in the economy and housing market should lower not raise property taxes. You have a legal right to protest. Filed an appeal now to receive a reduction. You file a residential appeal on-line at www.cookcountyassessor.com/appeals. Thedeadline for appeal is October 30, 2009.
