After being a resident for nearly two years and on the Board of Directors for one year, I continue to notice the importance of keeping the ''un-announced'' guests out of the Timberlake Community. A solution was brought up to investigate investment of 24-hour security at that main entrances. I would like to open discussion to seriously evaluate this for year 2001.
Very interested

We are definitely interested in having a ''Guarded-Gate'' community! Not
only will it add to our personal security, it will increase our property
value. Let us know how this will affect our association fees.

Support Guard for Timberlake

How should we handle the situation where a car waits outside the community
and then attempts to follow us in when we open the gates?? In the past,
I've stopped just inside the gate to try to prevent the car from entering,
but this often does not work. I've also confronted the individual(s) and
explained they must have permission to enter the community from the
homeowner they have business with. Most ignore the advice and follow me in,
or worse yet, get verbally abusive with me. I've since given up on any
tactic that tries to prevent unauthorized entry as it is not worth property
damage and/or personal injury.

Please advise or suggest ways to deal with situation. I am certainly one
homeowner that will enthusiastically support a guard-gated community!

How about a surveillance camera

How about a surveillance camera / web camera or some other security
equipment at each of the gates that will stop this nonsense and help arrest
the perpetrators?

The cameras should be secretively hidden in an undisclosed location or
physically unreachable so that tampering can be prevented. No good to havean eye-level visible security camera that everybody can see. The
perpetrators will just paint over it or destroy it and then bash through the
gates with their fenders again.
