If you find it inconvenient to run an extension cord out through your balcony door, here is a solution. For $.98 at Home Depot, you can get an adapter which turns a lightbulb socket into a two-prong outlet. Replace the balcony lightbulb with this adapter and attach an extension cord and you can now turn your lights on/off at the switch inside the unit with the door closed! You can also add an automatic timer at the end of the extension cord for another ten bucks. If anyone wants one, I can fashion a wooden pole to make the cord run along the balcony ceiling and drop down to the rail so the cord is out of the way.
