AHIA Priorities

Posted in: Alamitos Heights
The AHIA Board of Directors would like to solicit your opinions. We would like to hear from you on what you think our association's priorities should be in the near term and long term.
Is reducing traffic and noise in our neighborhood important? Are you concerned about our local environment, emergency preparedness, or crime and safety? Perhaps we should focus more on events where we can meet our neighbors face to face.
Your improvement association has bylaws that direct us to address issues that improve the quality of life in our neighborhood. That is a broad mandate. Your feedback will help the association direct our resources to those areas that give us the most benefit.
So speak up, we are listening.

Traffic & Noise

We live on St. Joseph next to little Rec Park. Under Long Beach Municipal Code #16.16.020 it states that there shall be no picnicing or gathering involving more than 25 persons without first obtaining a permit. On most week ends you can find gatherings that exceed this amount increasing the noise levels above the city code #8.80. We need more Park Rangers patroling and enforcing the code. Most of the people are not from the area.

When they posted the streets south of PCH on Bellflower to eliminate the parking of unattached trailers and motorhomes they simply moved to 6th St. by the golf course. This has caused a hazzard when it is foggy and it is also unsightly. We need to have the streets posted just like Bellflower.
