Honoring Martin Luther King

The Louisville Metro Council is calling on the public to give the council their thoughts on how best to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. To assist in getting public opinion on this matter, the Metro Council has established the e-mail address MLK@louisvilleky.gov for citizens to contact the council. Persons unable to use e-mail are also able to either write to MLK Resolution c/o Metro Council, 601 W. Jefferson St, 40202 or a leave a message at 574-3473. All correspondence should include the contact information in the event that follow up questions are necessary and a short explanation of their idea when making their submission. Submissions are due by noon on Tuesday, February 6. The committee plans to meet at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7 to discuss the ideas that were submitted.

Why Only MLK?

MLK did some good. He was also a womanizer and unfaithful to his wife. Surely there are much more deserving candidates and role models to remember. (Mother Theresa, Einstein etc.)
