Hotel Ideas

We have tried to find hotels that are reasonable but not too far from the reception. Here are a few for those of you who do not already have a favorite place to stay when you are in NYC.
Note: These are just ideas, we have nothing formal set up.

* Madison Hotel - Madison at 27th - singles $86; doubles $105-126; includes
tax and continental breakfast. Ph # 800-9-madison

* Murray Hill Inn - 30th between Lex and 3rd - Euro style inn - that means for about $ 95 you have a sink in your room and use a bathroom down the hall. For a private bath it is $125. These guys only take travelers checks or cash.

* Quality Hotel Assisted - Lex at 30th - $129 - Applecore hotels Ph # 800-567-7720

* Madison Towers - 38th and Madison Ph # 800-407-3351

* Shelburne Murray Hill, Lex at 37th - Studio suites with king or 2 doubles, kitchenette and sitting area $223. Ph # 800-me-suites This is a good idea if some of you want to double up with another couple.

* Howard Johnson - Park and 30th. Ph# 212-532-4860

* The Carlton - 22 East 29th Street 212-532-4100

* The Best Western Sea Port Inn - This is a little farther away but it is near South Street Seaport. This is a very reasonable hotel if people want to stay in the downtown area. It is an easy walk to China Town and the financial district. You are right next to the Sea Port which in and of itself is a great place to visit.
