MENA will once again sponsor a tour of remodeled homes this September. Homeowners who have recently completed or expect to complete their remodel in time for the September 24 event are invited to offer their home for this annual fundraiser. Proceeds are used to fund projects that improve and enhance the community. Six homes are to be slated for the tour.
?“This is the seventh year for the tour,?” said Rian Troth, MENA president. ?“It is the biggest fundraising project we undertake each year and the proceeds are used to benefit the community. The homes on tour offer ideas and inspiration on how East Sacramento home owners have built, updated, upgraded, enlarged or converted their spaces to suit changes in needs, family size and lifestyle.?”
?“I love the MENA tour. My daughter, who will be moving to East Sac this year, and I toured the six homes. She and her fianc?© will be remodeling a home very much like some of those on the tour. We both got not only remodeling ideas, but also decorating tips. Each home was staffed with docents and some of the contractors who actually did the work on the remodel,?” commented Sabra Sanchez, Pocket/Greenhaven resident.
Proceeds from past MENA tours have funded the upgraded ?“Welcome to East Sacramento?” sign at the corner of Alhambra and H Street, American River Clean Up and numerous park projects, and McKinley Library book purchases and more.
?“None of these projects would have been completed on such a timely basis without the MENA support,?” commented Cecily Hastings, resident and past chair of the tour event.
Although several of the six homes have already been recruited for this year, we do need more to round out the tour. If your home would be appropriate for the tour, please call Polly Sanders, MENA Vice President and Home Tour Recruitment chair.
