AMERICAN RIVER CLEAN UP — SEPT 20

One of East Sacramento?’s natural boundaries is the American River, which serves as a source of both beauty and recreation for our neighborhood. On Saturday, September 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon, the American River Parkway Foundation is sponsoring a clean-up day for the river. The McKinley Elvas Neighborhood Alliance is calling out for volunteers.
Just a few hours of volunteering can make a big difference to the environment and the quality of this unique resource. Enjoy spending a Saturday morning with MENA and do your part in keeping our neighborhood river, its banks, and the parkway clean.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate, including kayakers and boaters. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Last year MENA volunteers helped clean the area around Paradise Beach in River Park and Alumni Grove at CSUS. Those efforts combined with other volunteers resulted in the removal of more than 1,000 bags of trash and recyclables from the parkway according to the foundation.
