MTV Community and Child Watch Group

Warm Weather and Safety

May 19, 2009

Finally, the cold temperatures have slowly given way to warm breezes that beckon us to come outside. As the cold weather becomes the past, many of our children are now out playing and drivers need to be mindful of this and make a special effort to follow the posted speed limit for developements (usually 25 mph). Also, all children under the age of sixteen (16) must wear a helmet when riding a bike and youths under the age of seventeen (17) need to be aware that Middletown has a curfew ordinance stating that they must be inside or on their porches during the hours of 10:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

I'm sure most of our residents have noticed the apartment construction taking place. There are twenty five (25) projected units to be constructed extending out as far as Ash Boulevard. We are a fairly large development and still growing. This is a primary reason why Middletown Village residents founded the Middletown Village Civic Association and the Middletown Village Community and Child Watch Group. Our projected, potential growth is upwards to about 1200 units. Our development is one of a very few in Middletown that strive to maintain a functioning representative organization and safety organization to serve the needs and concerns of the residents. Both of our organizations deserve the active participation and support of every neighbor. Also, if any resident has a new neighbor or knows of a new neighbor who has just moved in, please pass the information about our Civic Association and Community Watch Group to our new neighbors.
