The state law requires 7-15yr old kids to be in school (unless they have been suspended), but there are no charges if a kid is found not in school. Kids 16yrs and older are not required to be in school.

f. Queens University Sports Complex Updates:
Construction Status:
The Field House is progressing, with the second floor deck poured, and the steel is up for the Field House and Welcome Center.
Security
The electrical panel has been broken into on the field. Bill Nichols, VP Facilities Planning and the Team decided that the panel box should be locked, but that there was no need for a fence around the panels.
Landscaping
The group discussed the appearance of the grass at the entrance and around the lion sculpture. Queens will discuss adding this area to the contract for Metrolina in exchange for the area that they no longer need to maintain where the new building will stand. It is noted that Metrolina comes out to maintain the turf three times per week.
Additional Parking
It is noted that the available parking lots should be sufficient for most events. Also, an additional gravel lot could be added at the construction trailer area upon project completion.
Bill discussed adding an access road to connect Marion Diehl park with the Sports Complex which could also help with traffic congestion; the group will further discuss this in relation to safety issues.
7. Old Business
a. Still have an opening for the Board of Directors secretary position. We really need to get this filled and take the workload off of April and Cheryl. Please speak to your friends and neighbors and see if anyone is interested. If they are, please have them contact me. It is critical that we get this position filled. April Mays is expecting a baby this summer and will not be able to cover the secretary position.

8. New Business
a. Treasurer?’s Report. We currently have $890.14 in our account with all bills paid. Please pay your 2009 dues. You can send a check to Madison Park HOA, 5026 Currituck Dr, Charlotte, NC 28210. We are working on getting a post office box for this address.

9. Open Discussion:
a. Reviewed calendar of events ?– monthly association meetings, National Night Out, Spring Picnic, Holiday Social. These events will be placed on the calendar.
b. The South Blvd railroad crossing at Tyvola is hopefully fixed. Norfolk Railroad said they would patch the problem at the tracks for the rest of the year. The crossing is scheduled to be replaced in 2010.
