Right-of-way

Section 10-212 (a)Restricted. It shall be unlawful for any person to attach, place, paint, write, stamp or paste any sign or advertisement or other matter within 11 feet of the edge of any public rights-of-way, or upon any post, pole, tree, tree stake or guard, shrub, fire hydrant, or upon anything else within 11 feet of the edge of the public rights-of-way or upon any bridge or overpass within the city limits except as provided in subsection (b) of this section.

Violators are subject to fines per violation as a penalty. Fines range from 100 up to 1000.00 dollars for each violation. Each sign is counted as its own violation.  You can quickly occur fines in the thousands of dollars from the city.

Madison Park currently cleans and removes illegal signs from both Seneca Place and Tyvola Road. Both streets between Park Road and South Blvd.   Tyvola was recently extended to Old Pineville Road to aid in keeping our area looking its best.

Help us keep our entire community looking great.   If you are out walking and see signs up on these two streets feel free to remove them.  The program authorizes us to remove any and all signs following the guides above in 10-212.

Remember you can post Yard sales and lost and found pets on our web site.  Use the calendar for yard sales and post lost and found animals on the discussion pages.    This way you don't face any fines for posting items along these streets from the City.  All you need to do to post in these areas is set up a user name account.  It is free to set one up.
