Your Kids' Names and Contact Info Sent to Military Recruiters

The No Child Left Behind Act's section 9528 mandates, under penalty of loss of federal funding, that each school at the secondary level forward student names and contact information to military recruiters. The section further stipulates that all parents are to be made aware of this provision, but does not tell how parents are to be notified.

Parents have the right to opt-out of having their child's name forwarded to the military. For those parents, it is suggested that they contact their high school administrators to find out how this is done.
