OK, folks, we need to examine the expansion plans requested by the church (Eastside Christian Academy)on the other side of Goose Creek, across from our entry gate.
''IF they build it, they will come.'' The church is looking to expand parking and build a santuary on the existing ''green space,'' currently unoccupied. Once the door is opened, we will be faced by an onslaught of growing vehicle traffic.
Then a ''turn lane'' will probably be requested to help with the traffic flow followed by the possibility of traffic lights at the/our intersection. (Let's face it, Goose Creek is already the Indy 500 some mornings!) What about the addition of curbs and sidewalks on Goose Creek to accommodate foot traffic ? That will logically follow.
We need to step up and put a firm ''halt'' to this expansion plan that will bring only additional traffic, conjestion and the lose of our quiet neighborhood to Manor Creek residents.
Contact your city commissioners and attend the zoning hearing June 6th.
Remember, once it is approved, construction will nor be far behind!
