Hi,

I am working with the board to create rules for posting to the site and when posts would be deleted. I was hoping to get some feed back on this topic.

1 - Should we require that all posts be signed? Currently most posts only refer back to a user name which does not identify who made the post. IE "Some User"

2 - Each post should be constructive and related to our community or events

Many home owners at past community meeting have expressed concern over the tone and negativity of posts in the past. This led to deletion of many older posts.

3 - Should we also wipe the board clean quarterly?

I agree with #1 that all post should be signed.  Its easy for people to be negative when they don't have to sign their names.  There is nothing wrong with having disagreements and concerns but you need to give the Board a chance to reply to your concerns personally.

Maybe the discussion board could be wiped clean every 6 months.

Hello Mike,

1.  I think it depends on the post.  I also think the purpose of the post should be made clear.  It's not a place for negative comments.  If a resident has a complaint, it should be brought to the board.  If the comment is about something general (i.e. Woods Road still not cleaned up, please contact Del Dot and request road to be cleaned up), I don't believe that needs a signature.  If the resident requires a response, a signatured should be required. 

2.  Agreed.  And if they have something constructive to say, please provide a solution or two. 

3.  Wipe the board clean every 6 months.

3. No, individual posts should have a quarter to be listed.  Otherwise something that is posted recently will be erased.
