Hello again neighbor! Your plantings and initiative were discussed at our recent board meeting. Everyone was very impressed. We also agreed that you should be reimbursed for the plants you donated. If you contact our treasurer, Brendan at powersvbbg@aol.com, and let him know what you have spent, he will send you a check to compensate you.
I was reminded that the original plan after the sign went in was just for grass seed to be planted, nothing more. We spent around $2,000 just to clear the surrounding area of brambles and bushes and overhanging trees, and to have several truckloads of fill dirt added to ready the ground for the sign. DelDOT required a setback from the road for the sign which put the ideal location at the bottom of a huge land drop-off. Although Nicole Poore's office paid for the cost of the sign, there was no extra money available for prepping the site, so Mansion Farm paid for that. This left no extra money for actual landscaping to be paid for. That said we are planning on some type of landscaping in the fall if the budget allows. We welcome any role you would like to play in that timeframe.
