Traffic signs, striping, speed bumps, pedestrian crossings, etc.

The fine detail of local traffic issues ?– Who is in charge?

If you have concerns along these lines, there is a City Department of Transportation (LA DOT) office for the Westside that deals with just these issues. It is called Bureau of Traffic Management, Western District, and is located at 1828 Sawtelle Blvd, #108. It is managed by Mo Blorfroshan, PE. Tel. 310-575-8138 (Fax 310-575-8143).

You could ask for a Neighborhood Traffic Management Investigation of your problem. There is a leaflet available from that office.

Mo Blorfroshan chairs Mobility Action Committees where some of the current issues are discussed. I understand that there are such committees for Venice, Westchester and Westwood, none for Mar Vista. May be we have no problems?

I have attended the Venice Mobility Action Committee meetings in the past and have been assured that it would be alright to bring up Mar Vista problems. The next meeting is on August 13th, 2002. Meetings take place every two months.
