I've lived in Marble Hill for about 7 years. I am raising 2 young children here. Due to my work schedule and work location my children do not get the benefit to take part in some of the activities offered in this area. Growing up, I was fortunate to be part of a community that offered a lot to it's youths, both as a child into adulthood where I was able to offer my skills and services as an adult and give back to the community. I feel Marble Hill may have a lot to offer the younger children, but I wonder if they're offering enough to the teenagers and young adults.
Many times I come into my building and find them hanging out, which is not a bad thing, but I wonder is there any programs designed specifically for them. I feel that if they had some place to go and something to look forward to doing, there would be less pregnancy, drug use, vandalism and loitering.
Marble Hill is a beautiful place, with good people. I think it could be much better if we offered more to our youths. Are there any places that they can utilize for recreation and creative outlets?
