If so, the Mesa Police Department would like to invite you to join the next Citizen Police Academy class. CPA #36 will be held every Wednesday evening starting Sept. 8 and will run through November 17, 6:30 - 10:00 p.m. Saturday at the Range will be held on Oct. 2.
This academy is a great way to learn more about your police department.
The twelve-week program is designed to familiarize each participant with
the organizational structure and operations of the various units within the Mesa Police Department. The program includes the following:
Tours of the various facilities including Communications, Range,
Training Facility, Aviation Hanger, and the Center Against Family
Violence, etc.
Presentations by Command Staff, Hiring, SWAT, Special Investigations,
Training, Criminal Investigations, Traffic, Crime Prevention, Volunteers
in Police Service, Explorers, and K-9, etc.
Potential candidates must meet
the following criteria:
Nineteen (19) years of age
Reside in or employed by the City of Mesa
No prior felony arrests
No misdemeanor arrests within one year of application.
