Blue Dot recently passed on some information to one of our neightbors which may be important to consider:
-It is recommended to pour 1/2 gallon of WARM water into the A/C drain when turning on the system in the Summer and again when turning if off in the Fall to clear up debris that could build up in the drain. If not done, a chalky residue can build up in the elbow joint and get into the system, causing trouble.
- Never attach scented sheets of any kind to the filter. They can detach from the
filter and get sucked into the system, destroying the motor.
- Change the filter every 2-3 monrths.
- He recommends a "wet switch" (resembling a hockey puck) that will kick in if a water leak from the A/C system occurs.
