What a great forum for discussion! This posting is to issue an announcement that all concerned residents should attend the March 16, 1999 City Council Meeting at 7pm at City Hall (915 I Street) and voice your outrage on the installation of half-street closures in our neighborhood. Also, call, write, or email councilmembers and let them know to vote to remove these obstacles from our streets. The NPTP committee led our community astray.....traffic is only pushed onto other "unprotected" streets. Fine idea if a street if a street you live on is "protected" - but at the clear expense of other citizens, it is not a sensible solution.
