The Neighborhood Commission has announced a workshop on August 24, 2002, for public input to the Second Draft of the proposed Neighborhood Plan.
The Kailua Neighborhood Board, Government and Community Services Committee (Jon Chinen, Chair; Claudine Tomasa, Vice-Chair; and members Larry Bartley and Jim Corcoran) hereby present to you the suggested input for the Kailua Neighborhood Board for the August 24 Workshop.
The Committee received the Board?’s authorization to present this input at the August 24 Workshop.
All Board members and Chairs are invited/encouraged to attend the August 24 workshop in the Mayor?’s Conference Room, 530 South King Street, 3rd floor, at 9:00 a.m.
Board members and Chairs who wish to further discuss this input may, as you wish: (a) Attend the next Government and Community Services Committee Meeting at Zippy?’s on Saturday, August 17, 2002, 10:00 a.m. (b) view the Second Draft Revised Neighborhood Pland Comments here at http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/public/genpage.html?nid=315624080&nneighid=509643554&nsupercity=496890901 and then use this ?“Talk About It?” section and enter your comments there, beginning August 2, 2002.
A summation of all input will be provided to the August 24 workshop by the Kailua Neighborhood Board Government and Community Services Committee
Please note: The workshop is only an interim meeting to receive public input on the Second Draft of the proposed Neighborhood Plan. The Commission Chair, Karen Iwamoto has promised another round of regional public hearings before the final plan goes to vote by the Commission.
All Kailua Neighborhood Board members were given their own copy of the 1st Draft of the Proposed Neighborhood Plan (DRNP May 8, 2001) at the June 7, 2001 meeting. Committee-suggested input is keyed to that 1st Draft as well as to other documents listed in ?“Sources.?” The Committee itself only received the 2nd Draft on Friday, July 19, 2002, just in time for our Saturday morning Committee meeting.
The Neighborhood Commission Office at Honolulu Hale has available for your pick-up, a copy of the Second Draft (2nd DRNP June 25, 2002). You may also view the Second Draft Revised Neighborhood Plan 2002 document on the City Web Site, at: www.co.honolulu.hi.us/index.htm. Otherwise your Neighborhood Assistant may be requested to bring you a copy to your next Board meeting.
