I live across from the park and am wondering what is happening this year. The grass is all dried up and the flowers are dying. The grass is covered with clover and it is very unsightly. Who is in charge and what can be done? I dont like to look out my window anymore!

Doug Woods heads up our Park at Mayfair and can be reached at 303-331-4038.
Many of the parks and greenways in Denver are drying up in the latest round of over 90 degree days. I have seen the Parks Department at Mayfair weekly and know they are trying to stay on top of the problem. In past years this time is typically where many Parks turn yellow and overun with weeds. If you have a free moment give Doug a call and express your concern. The old squeaky wheel gets the grease method seems to work best in these situations. I have placed a call to Doug to express our concern over the status of Mayfair Park as well. FYI - Vern is our normal park maintenance guy and he is out on medical leave for another month. So lets let Doug know that we need more water and weed killer out there.

Reason Why Park looks bad

I spoke with Doug Woods today regarding the current condition of Mayfair Park. He reported that recently there have been a number of incidents vandalizing the park. Apparently a group of kids are breaking off sprinkler heads in the park resulting in the inability to water thus the park looks bad. Doug finished repairing the sprinkler system today and has asked for increased patrols in the Park. A notification will be delivered to houses close to the park to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior.
