On May 2nd, 2005, the Mayo Meadow Neighborhood Association (MMNA) applied for Vision 2025 funds to put a "Front Door" on and officially name the neighborhood- Mayo Meadow. Volunteers spent many hours pounding the pavement to rally resident support. The response from neighbors was overwhelmingly in favor of this project, which includes erecting masonry walls at 21st and Pittsburg with our name, adding neighborhood assocation signage around our perimeter and landscaping the front and back doors of our boundary.
At a meeting at Hardesty Library on March 12th, City officials stated that 136 neighborhoods had also applied for these funds. They said that initially, only 6 would be granted, but that there would be other rounds of funding to follow. Not to lose heart!
Developments will be posted on this site as soon as the decision is conveyed to us. Stay tuned, and keep your fingers crossed.
