Yesterday A WHITE SUV turned from Valcourt onto Buckhorn and ran across the road into my driveway tearing down my mailbox in the process. The two females in the vehicle backed out with some difficulty, laughing, and drove down the street. May I add my daughter who had opened the door to see what the noise was saw them as they backed out and drove away I now have to shell out money to buy a new mailbox and have it installed. What is happening in Mcintrye? People run thru Stop signs,Steal from their neighbors yards, childrens bicycles are taken from them. Does anyone have any ideas how we can handle this?? I love my home but I am seriously thinking of selling.

Mailbox Hit and Run

Calex, My firm belief in what is happenning to our community again stems from lack of community involvement. If we (homeowners & residents)don't begin to be more aware of our surroundings and fail to look out for our community it will eventually be run over with the chaos that has already begun. The speeeding through the streets, the misuse of our yards as walking paths, trash on the streets, all begins with each of us taking pride in our community. It starts in our homes where we as parents talk to our children and explain that cutting across someone's yard can be deemed as trespassing. I spoke with some kid's the other day who were playing across property lines and running around a neighbors home. I don't know if you did but if your daughter got a description of the car you should have called the Police and filed a report. As long as we (the community) sit back and do nothing when something like this occurs, we might as well be sending out invitations to things becoming the way they appear to be going. Will it take a child being hit and killed by a speeder through our streets to get everyone in enough of an uproar to participate in trying to get to the solutions to this problem as well as some others? I hope not. If we all start to put out calls to CMPD about the traffic problems and some of the other nuances that can/should be handled by them, that's when you begin to make changes. I ask of you,as well as other s who will read this to get involved with our neighborhood watch. I have seen it work in other places that were in much worse shape than we are. Considering the numbers that are posted about break-ins, violent crimes, disturbances, this community has nowhere near the problems of most. If we can build a presence of awareness and that we won't be tolerant of those things which contribute to a community's demise, McIntyre will be alright. It does begin with us (the homeowners). We need to make this stand together because I have fought alone before and all you do is eventually get burned out. When you can look to your left or to your right and behind you and see others there for the same cause you move ahead until you complete what it is you are fighting for. I hope to see you at the annual meeting this Thursday and please make yourself known to me. Thank you, BJ Jones

I would have suggested for you to get the tag number off the vehicle. I would also suggest for you to become more familiar wit your neighbors as they will become the eyes for you when you arent around or looking.

My mother saw this as well.

She said she heard a loud bang that morning and opened her window and saw 2 girls in a white suv backing up and flying down the road and turning. So your daughter wasn't the only one who saw this. And I agree you shouldn't have to pay for this. Have u tried riding through the subdivision and checking for this vehicle. We stay across from you on buckhorn. 8629 actually.
