Boat Parking in Driveways

  • Respect-O-Meter: Respected Neighbor

My problem was with the fact that all it took for my violation was for someone to past it on this website. The other issues are hemmed and hawed around and excuses given, and rules changed. Satellite dish placement, fence types, etc. Basketball goals in the streets, all things going without any sort of enforcement. But let me park my boat in my driveway for 2 weeks and they immediately send a violation letter for that.

I know it's against the rules and it is going to be moved eventually. We pay over $100 a month for a slip, we're not going to leave it in the driveway indefinitely.

I think the problem is the changing of rules and no one knowing which way is up. Why do the rules need to be changed? They were set a certain way for a reason. We purchased under those rules and expect others to follow them as well. Why are we picking and choosing which are important.

I love "my" house, but am immediately discouraged and disappointed every day when I leave and arrive to the neighborhood to see all the cars parked in the streets and advanced levels of disarray of some homes.
