So I have lived in McIntyre since February 08. We moved here from California and decided to rent a place before settling into a neighborhood since we have a toddler. We have lived on Ainsworth street since moving here. When we first moved here, there was another rental next door with some kids living in it who partied a lot. We had to call the police numerous times to have them turn their music down after we tried to ask them to turn it down ourselves and them basically ignoring us.
Now there are new neighbors, who like to drive down the street bumping their music. They even park in their driveway blasting their music. What kind of people are being allowed to rent here? Is there nothing that can be done? We are renting through Century 21, and the home owners that own the house we are in were very strict with what we can and cannot do, what we must do to maintain the home, and we were quite happy to obide by those rules. We like to treat the house as if it were our own. Our yard is always kept up, cars aren't parked on the grass like they are down Valcourt...
Then there is the issue of people driving WAY over 25mph down Ainsworth. Like I said, we have a 17 month old, and I can't let him play in the front yard with us without holding his hand because people are driving 40 mph down the street. I have done everything shy of chasing peoples cars in mine to tell them to slow down.
I don't know what can be done, if anything. You would figure that the cops would fine the home owner or something after getting enough call outs for noise complaints. Of course, their response time being about an hour every time we call doesn't help. I know that my wife and I are moving though. I can't play with my son in the yard without risk of him getting hit by a car, I can't rest at night because people are trying to be cool with their loud music, some peoples yards have grass 3 feet high in their front and back yards... I just wanted to let everyone else on here know in case you didn't know. There are a lot of really nice people in this neighborhood. It's a shame that it's being ruined by a select few. I wish everyone the best.
