City of Houston Water Quality Maintenace Flushing of the Drinking Water Operations Branch will temporarily modify the disinfection of it's Southeast Water Purification Plant.Starting Sept. 29 through all of October 2014. This flushing is to help ensure superior quality drinking water. Areas effected are zip codes: 77034, 77058, 7059, 77062, 77075, 77089, 77504, 77546 and 77598.
There may be a slight chlorine taste or odor in the tap water for a short period. The water will be safe to drink, cook and bathe in, and for everyday uses.
This temporary change in treatment process is in accordance with state and Federal drinking water regulations. If you have concerns call 311 or email: 311@houstontx.gov
