First off, let me say that perhaps you have been doing some good Melissa. The warnings you put out are a great step. But...

The mis-information put out by the HOA has been damaging to COPS and the HOA itself. If somebody was to announce that they were a COPS member, that really wouldn't mean much anymore. There has been so much put out there that the integrity of the entire organization is at question. I'm sure the white truck guy is laughing.

For those with the "just get over it" attitude, do you have anything you may be passionate about? Some people moved to River Trails years ago with the decision possibly being swayed by the ease of access to a 20+ year old trail system. I didn't move in blindly, I checked out the area first. I knew there might be something making those dirt trails around the swamps. This only became a problem a short time ago when a Napoleonic resident needed to prove something. Prior to that, there was the implied agreement that it was ok to ride in the swampland. Again, this wasn't from the 3 year residents, this was from people who grew up in the HEB area. It used be a great "necking" spot from what I was told. The cops would chase the kids out with a smile. Crazy kids. But now, a couple of new residents come in and ruin the good thing we had. By forcing the issue with the PD, a lot of good Neighbors have gotten upset. We're not all bad. My son and I wonder about the lost people we helped find their way out of the woods; and the lady whose 10 year old was missing, we rode all the way to the river to be sure he wasn't lost in the dark (she was happy when she found out he was safe at a friends house). All those people were so grateful that people were on the trails to help out. Sorry, I strayed.

Yes, just get over it. Like we all would just get over it if a strip club came in. (A good thing from the HOA) Based on the passion I heard then, I seriously doubt if that would have been the attitude. Somebody complained about a ticket for parking the wrong way; should they have just said "oh well, I'll just get over it"? No, they voiced their opinion.

I was even criticized for teaching my son that breaking the law is OK, but if the trespassing is under the guise of COPS then it is OK. MM, you know what a sore subject all of this is. I would expect a person in your position to be a bit more considerate of others.

TCB, I'll have to stop by and get the scoop on the meetings.

Tough to hear about the boar. Saw it out in the woods. Haven't been back in a while, but has anybody seen the bobcat recently? Don't even hear him anymore.

I am curious what area of River Trails most of you live in.  My house backs up to Precinct Line and I have no issues with ATV's or have I ever seen or heard a bobcat or a wild boar.   The only thing I hear are the kids playing and having fun outside.

The problems stem from a couple of very sensitive people on the west side near the swamps.

Back in the swamps/woods I've seen several animals in the wild which tend to stay secluded. A boar, bobcat, skunks, possums, snakes...; had what seemed to be a copperhead coiled and ready to strike as we passed! But it IS nice to hear that the motors don't bother everyone.

My house backs up to Precinct Line as well, and there used to be a couple of boars that would show up along Precinct Line and the greenbelt along the road. Took a couple of pictures of them.  Now that they are digging that big pit/filling it in (what is that anyways) all of the wildlife is gone.
