Hello! I moved into 1520 Cranford about 9 months ago and love the neighborhood. I have some concerns about the property next door, as it appears to be abandoned. The tree in the front yard desperately needs trimming as it is pulling the shingles up on the roof of the house, and the shrubs are 3/4 of the way to the roof. The yard is unkept and it appears that the carport is becoming structurally unsound. Is there a way the city can help? Thanks! --Chris

Not sure what the City can do for you, but according to the Assessor's website, it appears that the owner of the property you speak of is the same owner as the property at 4895 Helene around the corner from where I live. 4895 Helene has been vacant for at least the six years I've lived in the neighborhood...I've noticed that when the grass gets about a foot high, someone comes and mows the lawn.

Helene and Cranford houses

Those are both rental houses owned by someone in Millington according to the tax roll. I would contact the owners AND city code enforcement and report that the 2 houses have been vacant for months and are in disrepair and possibly unsafe. Homeowners should make sure that the owners of rental houses keep the properties in order.
Another poster replied that the owners dont even live in the neighborhood.
WE DO live here and we want our area to be kept up just like anywhere else !!
