Can someone tell me what the firecracker noise is that I hear at night? Several, several, times around 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning, I hear what sounds like firecrackers at Hopewell and Helene? It will be thee or four explosions.

Do you think it is gun fire? I don't usually hear a car going by.

We must be neighbors, I have never heard this noise.
There is a loud noise coming from my house when acorns fall onto our carport and back porch, (both of which are aluminum)
It can be really loud if the acorn is moving fast enough.
Could this be the sound?

bottle rockets

Are you talking about a single incident or something all the time. I admit I set off a couple of left over bottle rockets from the 4th of July that I lit and shot up into the tree to try and chase some of these squirrels away.
I waited till late. That popping may have been from here. (Delmont/Willow)
