Speechs for the 2017-2018 season worksheet

All speeches will be a " book report " or " article report " on one of the biblical articles from our denominational website at gci.org, click publications, then article index.

Speeches should last 10 minutes max.

Speeches should cite the title of the article, and tell the audience what they are going to speak about.

Speaker should quote from the article a few times.

Speeches should refer the audience to at least one scripture, have them turn there, and listen to the speaker read it out loud.

Have an INTRODUCTION that makes your audience want to hear about the topic. Examples would be: tell of an extreme misunderstanding, or shown how lack of knowing can hurt someone, or describe the context/setting in which a bible writer addressed the subject, etc.

Before concluding the speech, tell the audience how this topic may have a relevant application in their lives today.

Have a CONCLUSION at the end of the speech which SUMMARIZES the article and its main point(s).
