Merle Hay Neighborhood Association

From The President April 2001

Apr 02, 2001

It's been a long hard winter, but the sunshine is stronger and longer, we're planning our spring plantings, elections will be next month, and our second year is off and running. During our first year, much time was spent figuring out what to do and how to do it. I think we're getting the hang of things and are ready to take on even more projects.

Wouldn't it be nice to plant more flower beds around the area than we did last year? How about a clean up and spruce up at Riley Park? Got some plants you'd like to split and trade? Like to go to a Ice Cream Social or Spaghetti Dinner or something of that type? Got any other neat ideas? We want to hear them.

There are a lot of new and fun things we can do as an association. All we need is YOUR help. We need your ideas and your participation if we're going to build on our first year and work together to become one of Des Moines' strengths. We need to pay heed to the slogan we adopted for our association: WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. --- Art Behn, President
