It is hard to believe that it has already been a year since the turnover from DR Horton.
Since then, the owners who have volunteered for the Board and the different committees have started making Merrill Pines a community.
The Board has laid a great foundation for the future.
Among many other accomplishments, the Board was busy in 2007 with the following:
1) Established the Rules and Regulations;
2) Oversaw an Insurance Appraisal and Reserves Study;
3) Welcomed new Property Manager, Michelle Brown; 4) Recommended, with the Finance Committee, the membership to approve the Cash-Flow Method to keep dues down;
5) Arranged for JSO officers to patrol our community; and
6) Worked with MAY Management and DR Horton to fix construction defects.
However, the Board can?’t do it alone. Everyone must get involved to make Merrill Pines a nice, safe place to live.
Good ideas that have been brought up during the Member Forums after each Board Meeting need volunteers to make them happen.
For instance, there have been suggestions to form social clubs, to add additional lighting outside, etc.
These ideas are not falling on deaf ears. The Board agrees that these ideas are great, but we all need to work together to make Merrill Pines Association work for us.
If you have an idea for the Association, please contact MAY Management or the Board for volunteer opportunities.
