Roads (again)

Posted in: Rustic Hills
I have a question regarding the petition that is being passed around to all the houses on Rocking R Dr ?. Regarding having the roads paved (again).Has his been generated and backed by the association?.
Roads and Polling question

Operations Mgr. for the City Street Dept. spoke to property owners on 24 May.In addition to having numerous complaints about dust on the CITY OWNED STREETS the cost of maintaining the streets to acceptable levels of grading and dust control is becoming cost prohibitive. An option presented was a probable no cost paving to the property owners. He wanted a poll taken of all property addresses on the gravel roads. Not just the paid members of RHIA. The poll question was ''Do you want the city at no cost to the property owner to pave(with asphalt, no curb, no sidewalks) the city owned streets leading to and adjoining your property? YES or NO. This polling question was an option presented and was generated by the city street dept. and is being done for them by volunteers in the neighborhood. This is a poll, not a petition. RHIA did not generate it but they should back any results if they indeed represent the property owners as they want us to believe.
Again and again

I have some more quetions on this road issue. (Please don't all answer at once) How do we know we will not be asessed at a higher rate over the oncoming years? Where in C.S can we go look at this set up? How will this stop the drainage problem? What is the expected time it will take to have the pot holes and other problems fixed? Won't the asphalt retain even more heat in the summer time? The heat problem would make it difficult for the homeowners who walk their dogs (pads will burn) and jog. What about traction issues leaving this area on icy days? Do you really think the city will come out and plow these roads? Lets also be sensitive to the residents who have horses. Their concerns should have more leverage because this development was created for them. Also,it just would not seem right to watch the fourth of July parade on asphalt. These are question I hear the residents asking. How about a chance for them to have their questions answered before changes are made due to a few loud people. Thank you. P
