Any fishermen/women out there?

Yes Sue it is hard to fish for Walleye on the river without a boat. Next best thing is to find someone who does. Nothing beats being out on the water at nite with no crowd, no traffic, calm water and peace and quite. If you must venture out of Wyandotte.....Kent Lake (Kensington Metro Park) in Milford offers great fishing from shore.

Of Course!!

The best tasting walleye and perch come from the river.Actually the walleye come into the river from the lake. We have people from all over the United States come to the Detroit River for walleye. Come on down to the boat ramp for a Downriver Walleye Federation fish fry. They deep fry the walleye that is caught that day! And like I said before, its delicious and its a blast! Check out our website www.wbramp.com or www.dwfonline for the schedule. The first fish fry will most likely be in May but I heard that there may be one after each one of the tourneys at our place. Its free and everyone is invited. Also check out the ''bragging page'' on our website to see some of the catches from 2003. Many of our regulars customers catch enough walleye to fill their freezers and they eat walleye all winter.
No kidding!

I guess I've been missing out. I've lived near the Detroit River for 40 years and the only time I've actually been on the water is when we went to Boblo.

My grandparents owned a hotel on the lake up north,so I grew up 'going up north' to boat and fish. Never associated this area for something like that. I always thought the people fishing on the river did it just for the fun of it.

I LOVE perch. R.P.McMurphy's on Biddle is the best place around here to get a perch dinner. I'm a little disappointed in the other restaurants when it comes to their seafood menu. Portofino's is one of my favorite places to eat,but not their seafood.

I don't know if I've ever tried walleye. I will definitely have to try one of those fish fries.

Thanks for the info :-)
