Park construction is in earnest and due to the depressed economy the bids for this project came in lower than expected. The Park Department is able to build all of Phase 1 and part of Phase 2. Upgrades included concrete rather than asphalt. The power lines have been put underground to allow for flying kites and trees. The kids are going to have a apple core water feature and the amphitheater includes electrical for summer bands and programs.
This has been the best a wonderful colloborative project with our park department director
Mike Stone and his predecessor Mike Jackson from the beginning.
We are looking forward to the 2012 events. The sewer project will also be completed in this area this summer and we may possible have our roads open for more than local traffic without detours for the first time in 7 years.Hurrah!
