TARC benches have been there for years!!!!  And have been used by professionals going to work downtown, some that live in Bellemeade, and some that live across the street.  Do you people seriously have nothing better to do then to be "negative nilly's".

Look at the positive!  TARC is updating the stops that are used, and eliminated the stops and routes that were not....and that just makes sense.

TARC is beautifying the area.....(don't we have a beautification committee?), and making it nicer for the community.  TARC is not adding any new stops that weren't already there, so it's NOT inviting more crime, etc....they are simply making nice of the stops that are used.

In my original post - I was questioning the placement of the TARC stop at the Bellewood

entrance, not the fact that there was a TARC stop.  I had been misinformed that there was to be a "shelter" being place right in the entrance area that the City and the Beautification Comm, had spent our taxpayer money on fixing up and had it looking great.

The placement that was original marked off would have hidden the signage and landscaping of the entrance if you approach from the west.

In response the Mayor, informed me that the placement was not what the city discussed with TARC and that there was not going to be a shelter.

I know there had been a bench at the Moorgate entrance for many years, and that it is

well used, but it is across the road from the signage for the city, so it does not block the

signage or the view of drivers exiting the city.

I stand by my statement that the TARC Shelters, invite vandalism.  I served on small city government for over 20 years, and we were dealing with vandalism of the bus shelter on a regular basis.  And all you have to do is drive around the city and view the shatter shelters  or graffiti painted on the shelters.

Do Look at the positive!  TARC is updating the stops that are used, and eliminated the stops and routes that were not....and that just makes sense.

In my advanced years I have learned that the so-called positive has to be balanced with the negative in order to make an accurate assessment

Further, in response to your claim that TARC was eliminating stops that were not used.  In one instance of which I am   aware that is most assuredly NOT true.  Before I retired I taught at an alternative school that was on a slightly different schedule than the rest of JCPS high schools. There was no JCPS transportation provided.  Thus, many of our students had to depend on TARC, and guess what?  Many of the stops were eliminated or the timing of the NEW schedules made it impossible for our students to get to school on time.

Next point:  How is our concern about anything blocking the view of drivers negative?

Do you people seriously have nothing better to do then to be "negative nilly's".

The First Amendment to our Constitution gives us the right to question things even if it upsets you.  And, I refuse to refer to you with a negative term as you did.

And furthermore, I refuse to surrender my right to question any government action under any circumsatnce.

okay- calm down there....my response we to LAB60,  about it being a "nightmare...and inviting trouble and vandalism and trash"  that is such a negative thing to say.

I have nothing else to reply...because I simply think the improvements to the stops are nice.  end of story!
