COATS FOR KIDS--RECORD BROKEN

Picture

CONTRIBUTIONS EXCEED LAST YEAR BY FAR

Just in time for the cold weather Miller residents came through in an effort to provide coats for Hawthorne Students who need them. Lisa Tompkins, a manager at Kohl's, found coats on sale and then used various discounts to make the most of the $656 contributed for this cause. She was able to get a total of 28 coat.
These were taken to the Hawthorne Elementary School and the staff there will determine the needs of individuals who will receive them.

Feel Good Feeling

Makes one feel pretty good to know that they have had a hand in keeping some kid warm. Thanks to Lisa Tompkins for being a prudent shopper taking advantage of all the sales and discounts. Thanks to all who helped in exceeding the goal.

DONOR FROM OUTSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD

There were numerous monetary donors who are Millerites. But, Cindy Knox who is a friend of Mike Stuart and a frequent visitor and an avid admirer of Miller Neighborhood heard about the project and the concern that residents have for chilren. Cindy is a retired general surgeon, mother of two children, and owner and manager of a horse farm in Arkansas. Her generous contribution of $250 is greatly appreciated by all who worked on the project as well as the staff at Hawthorne School and the boys and girls who will be able to keep warm during the days ahead.
