I'm replying to my own post just as an update. This same next door neighbor put out his palm clippings once again about a month ago. There was lots more this time as I had to sweep up the palm nuts again and there was a bunch and in the street. If I didn't sweep them up I'd end up with them all over my driveway and in my garage as our family's car tires would pick them up for weeks. This guy was our ex-president and he's back again. I like his management, the gettin' to it'ness but his considerations for his neighbors is strongly lacking. I suppose I'm just going to have to overlook these bad qualitys and try to point them out to him when I get a chance. Maybe it's time to start sending him emails and letters for each occurance. I was able to point out to him about leaving his grass clippings all over the driveway and sidewalks was not a good idea. A family moved into the vacant house next door to him and in less than a week, they mowed the grass and guess what? Yep, the left the clippings all over the sidewalk and driveway. Now, where do you think they got that idea from? Great example for a president of a community. He told me yesterday in a conversation with him that he was going to buy a mower with a bag to prevent the mess. I can't wait. I've just never seen anyone leave clippings on the walks or driveway after a mowing, it looks so tacky and this is a pretty good looking community for the most part. Time will tell. Sat. 8/6/11.

Thanks for the extra ideas!  They're good.

Update: Recently it was observed a neighbor, wont' mention any names, but he likes to cut his grass (I should say, butcher the grass as he never sharpens the blade) and never edge the sidewalk or driveway. He has no time for such tivialness. Oh, but any weekend he can be seen polishing his little sports car all shiney. Back to my story though. Not only did he not edge but this time the grass was so thick and it was getting late, that you could see his frustration in that it was taking so long to get done, that he starts kicking the pile of grass clipping down the sewer drain. You want to talk about a hypocrite. This same person told me that I should not put my clippings down the drain as it will affect the pond and algae bloom where the water drains to. I sometimes wonder what planet these people come from, and hope they go back one day.

I can neve quite be sure when Big Trash (anything goes) or heavy tree curring pick-ups are. I need to plan ahead for these. Can anyone clarify?

Thanks!
