Mogollon Estates HOA

Forest Service Information

Dec 20, 2003

The Forest Service is replacing the boundary fencing between the forest and Mogollon Airpark and Mogollon Estates properties. The current fence does not follow the EXACT boundary line. They want to get the fencing placed on the exact line.

Since the Forest Service has now gotten the legal go ahead to begin thinning the urban interface, our board member Ken Floberg asked them when they would be thinning the forest interface with Mogollon Estates along Chandelle Lane. Not good news! Since last summer?’s fire burned up through that draw that parallels us, they now feel we have a safe buffer zone should there be another fire. Mr. Green said it could be as long as ten years before they get to this area. The Black Mesa Ranger District determines what areas get thinned and the priority. Do they not remember that last summer?’s fire threw out embers 3-4 miles ahead of the fire?

The brush pit will remain open until the end of the year or the first big snow. - whichever comes first.
