Sorry that did not come outright. Was on my phone posting. This would make the President of the hoa responsible for making all infractions of the covenants up to date. He is the chief executive board member so he is the one that would be sued. The HOA if they lose would be responsible for any attorney fees as a result of this. Or basically the HOA President would be.

Who are they to decide what brings down property values. The infractions they are pointing out are subjective to their interpretation. Based on what? I think all the wooden privacy fences have brought down our values more than anything else. Especially lettering on a mail box. What I am suggesting is to sue them for not enforcing all covenants. Who are they to pick and choose. Is it who do we like and who do we not? This easily changes with the change of board members.

Better yet, mind your own business. The pole on my box has been the way it is for ten years. It has not been a problem in that amount of time. It is not a problem now...

Who else received a letter? I did and I am baffled as to what is actually wrong with my mailbox.  I just moved in not too long ago so I am unfamiliar with the Board or what else has occurred in the past or how we can respond to the threats.  Would anyone else listed here be willing to talk to me? I am incredibly displeased thus far.

They are a group of people who feel inadequate because they have not advanced to a station in life that would put them above others. Their purpose in getting on the HOA board is to impose their will on their neighbors. Kind of mine is bigger than yours thing.

The good news is that we have less than six years until we can do away with the HOA all together.

Here is a solution to the problem. We can call for a special meeting of the body (us) with a majority vote eliminate the entire board. We can then put a group in that will make sure our grass is cut, lakes are treated and our snow is plowed. If a family has a boat or a camper and they are in their drive for a while, it is summer and they are using them. It is their driveway. They pay for their right to enjoy their property the way they see fit. Not a group of idiots who are the leaders of nothing. Legends in their own minds. They need to get lives and quit trying to run ours...

Im sure that most homeowners would be in agreement with you and would like to talk more about this.  Im pretty fed up with the petty BS going on and enforcing some but not all covenants, and wasting money on ridicolus attorney fees.  I know numerous homeowners in the neighborhood who would love to be in on this and also as soon as possible dissolve the HOA all together.  This has been one of the most ridicolus HOA ever in a neighborhood that I have lived in..
