Some of you may know about, and have attended, the Taylor Court Block Party sometime within the past four years. It's organized by the owners of the Taylor Court Grocery on 80th & Taylor.
This Block Party is usually held mid-summer (this year it will be Saturday, July 21st from 1-4 pm) and attended by up to 500 neighborhood residents. It's an afternoon of fun that includes a neighborhood parade, hotdogs and ice cream, and games for the kids. It's just an old fashioned street party!
The planning committee for the block party is in need of some information and/or contacts regarding a few items still not nailed down. Please take a minute to look at the list below and see if you might be able to help us.
We are looking for:
Classic Car clubs for the parade
A Classical or Jazz piano player
Musical Ensemble
People willing to ride their riding lawn mower in the parade
Businesses willing to donate prizes for games for the kids
Jugglers, Bagpipe players, face painters, or other entertainers
A Dunk Tank
A local celebrity or well-known face to be the guest of honor (last year it was KPTV anchor Kathy Smith)
A long time resident (female) to be Queen for the Day
Any ideas on floats for the parade
And, of course, volunteers to help out with the planning and/or at the event.
If you have a lead on anything on the list or would like to help out with this wonderful neighborhood event, please let me know.
Thanks
Kimberly
