The annual Neighborhood Summit is almost here! The summit, which is sponsored by the City of Portland Office of Neighborhood Involvement, will be held at Parkrose High School, 12003 NE Shaver Street on Saturday, March 3 from 9 am to 3 pm. It is free to all Portland residents.
This year officials expect as many as 200 local residents to attend the summit. Neighbors will discuss common issues, learn from each other, share their success stories, and work together to make the city a better place to live. There will be morning and afternoon workshops and lunch provided. Workshop topics include crime prevention efforts that work; getting local small grants; dealing with nuisance issues; recruiting and retaining volunteers; coping with growth & density; auto traffic & mass transit; local school closures & education; race relations; and more.
All Portland residents are invited, and encouraged to attend. If you would like more information about the summit or would like to register for the workshops, visit the ONI web site at http://www.ci.portland.or.us/oni.
