7:23 PM – 9-1-1 Presentation – A full outline of the system was given as
well as explaining their relationship with the police. The main issue seemed to be the eventuality of repeated low-priority calls not being addressed, to some, satisfactory. Another issue seemed to be around new internet phone service being routed through very far-off places. Representatives assured us that federal law and company policy was fixing the problem and calls are only rarely misdirected. Questions were around the low-priority of various complaints and the professionalism of dispatchers. The police said there is little they can do about noise complaints, especially if it is anonymous. The company representatives assured us that dispatchers were regularly monitored for the service.
