MONTEFINO VILLAGE NEWS
December 2007

Christmas Gathering. Over the last several years we have had a Christmas party in the nature of potluck with residents bringing a hors d'oeuvre to share. This year our party will be held in the clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening December 9. We will supply sodas, ice and paper and plastic goods, but you should bring such other beverages as you wish to drink. This is a great opportunity to socialize with your neighbors. Please RSVP by e-mail to Keith Johnston at keith423@cox.net.

Another Reminder About Improvements. Both the Ocotillo Community Design Review Board and the Montefino Village Architectural Committee have jurisdiction over, and must approve, just about anything you wish to modify or add to the exterior of your home and lot. In this case it is not better to seek forgiveness than it is to seek prior permission. Save yourself headaches by checking your Ocotillo Design Guidelines & Community Rules booklet, or call the Ocotillo Community Association (480-704-2900) for information before you start an improvement project.

Waste Collection. If you have items that are too large for your trash or recycle bins, you may call the City of Chandler at 480-782-3510 to schedule a separate pickup. (You may also call that number for information on disposing of hazardous wastes such as household cleaners, automotive fluids, paint and other chemicals.) You are allowed two free bulk trash pickups per year, but the number of bulk pickups of recyclables is not limited.

Also, you may haul large items or yard waste to the Chandler Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center at 955 East Queen Creek Road on Thursday through Monday from 8 to 4 p.m.

Budget Passed. The 2008 budget provides for a $5 per month increase in our annual assessment. Part of the reason for an increase is that we have not consistently raised the assessment to keep up with inflation and in effect need to play catch up. Increased utility costs and the need to increase our level of reserves for future maintenance and replacement of assets are also contributing factors.

Newsletters. To save the cost of postage we posting these newsletters on our two bulletin boards and on our web page accessible through www.neighborhoodlink.com/chandler/mv under Neighborhood Information. Please check either source for current newsletters.
