Christmas Gathering. Traditionally we have had a Christmas potluck at the Clubhouse with residents bringing appetizers, etc., to share. This year our party will be held in the clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening December 12. We will supply sodas, ice, and paper and plastic goods, but you should bring such other beverages as you wish to drink. This is a great opportunity to socialize with your neighbors. Please RSVP by e-mail to bsktcol@cox.net and advise what you are bringing.

Budget Passed. The 2010 budget provides for a $3 increase in our monthly assessment. There was no increase last year, but due to the lack of investment growth we need an increase to replenish the reserves account. Mindful of the continuing effects of the recession, we are avoiding unnecessary expenditures while striving to maintain the attractiveness of our community. We have no significant improvements on tap for 2010. Though increases in some expenses, like utilities, are unavoidable, the Board will continue to focus on keeping expenses under control. .

Pet Concerns. There have been instances of residents walking their dogs without leashes. Chandler has a leash law that requires that dogs outside of a residence or enclosure be restrained by a leash. Please keep your dogs are on a leash during walks, and remember that the city laws also require you to clean up after them.

Waste Collection. If you have items that are too large for your trash or recycle bins, you may call the City of Chandler at 480-782-3510 to schedule a separate pickup. (You may also call that number for information on disposing of hazardous wastes such as household cleaners, automotive fluids, paint and other chemicals.) You are allowed two free bulk trash pickups per year, but the number of bulk pickups of recyclables is not limited. Also, you may haul large items or yard waste to the Chandler Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center.

Annual Meeting. The community annual meeting will be held on Thursday evening February 4, 2010, with details to be provided after the Holidays. We need your participation. Please consider running for the Board.
